Minutes of the ISOLDE Physics Group Meeting, 12.12.2013

TECHNICAL NEWS:

No technical meeting this week;

GENERAL ISOLDE

– Delays in the cabling activity on the mezzanine: works should have been concluded by end of November but they have not yet started;

– NICOLE spokesperson visits ISOLDE to cross-check the integration of their setup in the hall;

– Works on the new bldg. 508 are smoothly going on;

– Tomorrow the Nobel prize K.S. Novoselov will visit ISOLDE and will discuss about the activities on graphene carried out by the local Solid State Group;

– It is sale time at the CERN library: enjoy Christmas shopping;

– The meeting was followed by the seminar by P. Capel on “The Ratio Method: measuring haloes from angular distributions” http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=283773;

– No seminar next week;

– Please note that the next meeting will take place on Wednesday 18 December;

– As it is time to leave for Christmas holidays, we would like to invite you for a small drink immediately after the meeting.
