Minutes from ISOLDE Physics Group meeting, 16th December 2015.

Technical news:

There was no ISOLDE technical meeting this week.

Overall a successful 2015 run for ISOLDE.
- Most of the experiments have gotten very good data.
- Data either to finish studies or as initiating test or preliminary results.
HIE-ISOLDE:
- The first beam line with MINIBALL and the Coulex chamber was focused in n-rich Zn isotopes moving to the old Rex energies in the evening. The SPEDE start was tested afterwards.
- The second beam line was tested. And the telescopes for the beam diagnostic boxes also.
ISOLTRAP: Had a few good runs (Cd…and others….).
COLLAPS: Had good runs and success with Mn beams. They will ask for beam to repeat the less successful Ca beam again in 2016.
VITO: Beam line is getting new elements and ready to take beam in 2016 into ASPIC.
IDS: Had many runs and a very successful year. Highlight was the neutron detector successfully installed and dismantled now.
SSP: Good data have been produced.
- bio-physics did not have any successful runs 2015.
- 2 PhD theses and 1 Master thesis produced from the 2 last years of data.

The groups/experiments at ISOLDE have all benefitted from each other through the strong and good collaboration between colleagues at ISOLDE.

Many campaigns of cleaning through 2015 have been completed. Clean-up has been made at the ISOLDE extension, 508 and 275. Especially large work was done at 275.
- A big Thanks to the many helpers and collaboration on identifying/disposing things.

RP-team has completed the de-contamination of the SS-lab. The de-classification of the building is on-going.
The final cleaning of 275 should be done before the end of Jan 2016.
- This should then be the end of a ~3 years of clean-up campaign.
- A new linoleum floor has been ordered for the old SS-lab and reconverted into lab to develop new setups or use as test bench space. The plan is now to have the space to install 3 test stations for equipment before installed at ISOLDE. Please make a request to Maria and Karl indicating the duration period needed in order to make use of the test stations.
The roof is in a bad shape (water damage). It will be followed up. The same goes for the building heating.

The Kitchen is installed. Missing water and electricity connections.
The plan is to install air condition on the top floor in 2016. Maybe not in all the rooms.
The water flow of the kitchen dispenser has been fixed.
The damaged sink in the toilet has been cleaned.
The water circuit installation in the laser-labs will be started 11th Jan.

The ISOLDE Workshop 2015 Group photo turned out very nice and happy.
- Will be distributed online, ISOLDE Workshop page.
COLLAPS will have a Nature physics publication about Ca-isotope.

There will be the first ISOLDE PG meeting of 2016 next Thursday 07. Jan.
