No comments to the minutes of the ISOLDE Physics Group Meeting from 2 May 2013

TECHNICAL NEWS:

• The inspection of the local authorities took place on Tuesday the 7 May 2013.
• Cutting the wall next to the TAS experiment has started today.
• Works connected to MEDICIS project have started.

GENERAL ISOLDE:

• Empting of bld. 507 and 115 is on-going.
• The buildings should be emptied to the level of the transport by Tuesday 20 May 2013 the latest (please note the change of the date). The phones existing in the different existing offices should be taken to our offices if they are working. Relatively new electrical connection should be removed by us when they cut the electricity and conserved until the new building is finished.
• The absolute deadline for empting the bld. 115 and 507 is Friday 31 May 2013!
• People responsible for empting rooms in bld. 115 and 507 are advised to request the transport well in advance due to possible unforeseen delays experienced so far. Especially, the transport of the heavy equipment may take long since the CERN internal transport company does not possess any adequate cranes, … etc.
• Things prepared for transport should be labeled accordingly.
• The transport of the equipment of high value is not covered by the general CERN insurance. Everyone is asked to pay attention while filling in the transport request form.
• The heavy equipment will be transported most likely at the same time close to the deadline.
• CRIS and COLLAPS are taking care of the movement of their laser systems and optical tables.
• Chemicals belonging to the SSP and biophysics will be stored at the chemical storage room in 26-1-020.
• The tap water in the printer room is still not available.
• Offices in bld. 601 has been emptied. The wireless router was unplugged and now it is stored in Magda’s office.

  • ENSAR Town Meeting, 17 – 20 Jun 2013, Warsaw, Poland. Registration deadline: 31 May 2013.
  • Spring Workshop on GEANT4 low energy nuclear physics, 28 Oct – 2 Nov 2013, Somerset West, South Africa. Registration deadline: 30 Sept 2013.
• The meeting was followed by the seminar of Prof. Akram Muhamedzhanov from Cyclotron Institute, Texas A&S University.
• Next meeting will take place at the usual time no seminar is foreseen so far
