No Comments to the minutes of the ISOLDE Physics Group Meeting of the 28.02.2013:

TECHNICAL NEWS

- EBIS switched off (no HV, no cooling water)

- The REX beam-line started to be dismounted last week. The beam-line supports will be moved to the long storage. The ownership of some of the equipment is not known. Didier tries to figure out to whom belong the quadrupoles.

- Removal of the targets is scheduled for the next week. Enough manpower available.

- RILIS: test with high power laser beam to the target area is scheduled, next week the preparations are going to start.

- The ISOLDE crane passed the inspection, no comments given so far.

- In order to create a laboratory for development of nano-particles targets the chemical laboratory (building 115) will be merged with the neighbouring room. Users of the chemical laboratory are requested to inform about their special needs concerning the equipment in the new lab.

GENERAL ISOLDE

- The list of selected summer students is still not available

- The duty of TSO for building 275 was assigned to J. Thiboud and M. Kowalska (deputy).

- Since Mar 1st the ownership of building 115 was moved to PH department. The new TSO are M. Kowalska and M. J. Garcia Borge (deputy).

- The set of regulations to be followed by the TSOs can be found in the Safety Code A9

- The construction works on building 508, which is supposed to replace 507, will start latest Aug 1st. Planning of the new building should be consulted with the Safety Department. The equipment still present in building 507 should be moved in June and July either to building 275 or to the long storage.

- Please note that similar storage rooms as those located in the upper floor of 507 are not predicted in the new building. We will need to use 275 in a more optimal way. This building remains at disposal of ISOLDE until the end of 2015, later in the best case only the ground floor will be available.

- The mechanical workshop will be located on the bottom floor of building 508 in a somewhat reduced shape.

- Paul Collier (BE) suggested the need of having a direct access to the control room from outside of the building 170. A possible solution (although non unique) might be installation of a lift.

- Christoph Rembser (PH-ADE) informed that for the celebration of the 60thanniversary of CERN an international competition for schools is foreseen. School classes should submit proposals and the winners would get around 1 week of beam time at CERN to carry out their experiment. Paul Collier suggested that perhaps ISOLDE could offer such possibility and host students for 1 week in 2015.

- The deliveries to building 170 are still possible before Apr 1st. Later please use this option only in exceptional cases (non-standard dimensions etc.).
