GENERAL ISOLDE

  • HIE-ISOLDE: on Tuesday morning Erwin gave to the ISOLDE Physics Group an informative presentation on the status of the works in the hall and the present planning. The presentation was attached to the minutes of the last PGM;
  • Cleaning campaigns: Maria thanks everyone who collaborated this morning to the cleaning/selection campaign in the hall extension and in bldg. 275;
  • Bldg. 275: some diagnostics devices and the emittance meter are waiting for final destination. They will be used for off-line tests;
  • Bldg. 115&507: Maria gave an update on the status of the request for the construction of the new buildings. We are still waiting for the answer concerning bldg. 115. For bldg.507 we get 600.000 euros that could cover civil construction. If we get green light for bldg.115, the funding available will cover the civil construction of a common building (replacing the two), but probably no budget in 2013 to cover the electricity network, cooling and ventilation. We expect to get final answers in mid-March. If the project of construction goes on, the bldg.s must be emptied by the beginning of June.
  • Equipment: Jan reported on the new oscilloscope recently bought by the ISOLDE Collaboration for the users that it was found damaged. No one reported on it. Users of the ISOLDE equipment should be careful and they should report as soon as possible in case of any damage of the equipment in common use.

AOB:

  • Seminars: Maria encourages the in-house presentations. Till now only Kara has scheduled it. Please contact Susanne to propose your contribution to the seminar program.
  • It would be much appreciated that people going to conferences when back give a brief description of the conference itself and the program covered;
  • Farewell party: after almost two year of fruitful collaboration, Nobu is going to leave ISOLDE at the end of the month. He reminds that everyone is invited to his farewell party, tomorrow Friday 15th at 16:00 in the ISOLDE Seminar Room: home-made Japanese food and desserts will be served.
  • The meeting was followed by the seminar of Emmanuel Clement “Recent Result from in-beam spectroscopy at GANIL in the 68Ni vicinity”
