  1. Technical news:
  • Work is still ongoing on the ISOLDE vacuum system. 80% of gauges and turbo pumps have been replaced so far.
  • Next week the door to the hall extension at the MISTRAL setup might be cut to increase the opening by more than 50cm. A safety check is pending.
  • The sparking of the HRS high voltage may have been caused by the damage discovered on the Boris tube insulation. The insulator will be replaced and the one of GPS will be inspected for similar damage.
  • Work on the shielding of the REX-LINAC is supposed to be completed end of next week.
  • Front-end FE6 will be moved from building 275 to building 179 until latest mid February.
  1. Talks:
  • J. Guilherme Correia presented his work in collaboration with the developers of Timepix/Medipixdetectors at CERN, namely: “Electron detection tests applied to the emission channeling technique”.
  • Next week, 03/02, Marek Pfützner(Warsaw) will present his studies on two-proton decays.
