  1. Technical News
  • HRS : achieved 78% transmission through the RFQ with stable 86Kr beam.
  • Check of the mechanics of HRS WG210 in separator zone
  • Background observed in detectors of the new Tape Station. Shielding similar to the old tape station will be put into place.
  • Radiation alarm on PAX02 was investigated. After proton beam steering upstream the radiation levels went down.
  • A condensation tank capturing the water from the air conditioning was too full and water streamed down on electronics racks next to the control room.
  • Safety : RP planned evacuation of the hall during collection of 89Rb at GLM
  • There is a plan from the vacuum group to replace the whole vacuum system during the shutdown and to install at least one, possibly two new Front Ends. Worry is expressed that there will be insufficient resources from RP to do all this work during the shutdown.
  1. Experiments
  • GPS : collections all successfull.
  • HRS : Kr beam to REX. Very smooth setup until wednesday. 94Kr Coulomb excitation done. Switching to 96Kr.
  1. AOB
  • Review  meeting on HIE-ISOLDE : very positive evolution (i.e. cavities prototyping)
  • Positive signals are being received concerning HIE ISOLDE
