  1. Technical News (Offline work)
  • Continued work on the integration of ISCOOL in the ISOLDE controls
  • Issue with RABIT irradiations last year is solved : there was a kink in the tube guiding the sample to the target, preventing the sample from reaching its final position. These RABIT irradiations have to be announced well in advance.
  • The concrete roof is installed on the tunnel around REX. The end doors will be installed next year.
  • The REXTRAP suffered from discharges. After cleaning the insulators and reaching high vacuum the problem disappeared.
  • The EBIS is baked out and ready for usage. After moving crates and electronics the system had become unstable, main message : do not touch ...
  • The proton counter is counting spurious
  • RILIS will test the ionisation efficiency of Mn isotopes with the new SSL.
  • COLLAPS will  start offline tests with Ca and Be beams from the HRS
  • First target test will be the BeO target to produce 6He beams.
  • The new ISOLDE schedule will become available shortly (end of march), but will only cover the first months (until mid-august)
  • There are a lot of requests for RILIS, but insufficient manpower is available to schedule all requested RILIS runs.
  1. AOB
  • The ISOLDE srv1 will be removed permanently shortly. Please do backup data which is left on this PC.
  • A pre-meeting was organized to discuss on safety management. All experiments will have to produce a risk assessment (i.e. manuals, procedures, etc ...)
  • Alex, Dennis, Gry and Jarno were at the Bochum conference. Alex gave a short overview of all talks.
  • Some questions were raised concerning the may workshop on non-LHC experiments. In a follow up meeting the demands and questions will be clarified.
