TECHNICAL NEWS:
- No technical meeting on September 10, 2013.
GENERAL ISOLDE:
- The new concrete blocks for the linac shielding are in the hall. Thursday afternoon (September 19) the linac roof will be taken away.
- The works on the EBIS are on-going.
- Power and electric sockets, and ventilation requirements for the bld. 508 should be finalized asap. Local persons in charge have been contacted by Magda and are asked to inform her about the number of the plugs required in each of the new laboratories. The plans have to be finalized before the end of September.
- The deadline for the INTC proposals in on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
Hall Cleanup:
- The cleaning company has started cleaning in the hall this morning (September 19). The 1st floor of the MISTRALL platform has been already cleaned up. At the time of the meeting, the company is working on the ground floor below the platform.
- This week there are only 2 persons cleaning the hall. From the next week on there will be a 3rd person joining the team.
- The preliminary schedule of the cleaning is the following: Week 38: NICOLE, fixed tape station, WITCH platforms Week 39: WITCH, REX-TRAP, ASPIC (no cleaning on 25th and 26th September) Week 40: LA1, LA2, COLLAPS, CRIS, ISOLTRAP Week 41: GLM, GHM, TAS, central beamline
- The physicist “on shift” schedule is available on https://espace.cern.ch/ISOLDECLEANUP/SitePages/Home.aspx . The person in charge on a given day meets with the cleaning team in the control room at 830 and agrees on the plan of the day. At 1500 he/she meets with the team again to get the status and at then passes this info to the person in charge on the following day.
- ISOLDE has provided cleaning tissues, wet wipes and red stickers – all available in the control room below the printer. Everyone is welcome to use them to clean the parts of your experimental setups which you don’t want cleaned by the cleanup team. After the usage, the remaining materials should be returned to the control room.
AOB:
- CERN open days are held on September 28 – 29, 2013.
- Volunteers are still needed.
- It is advised to close the offices and laboratories on that weekend. Visitors are allowed to enter all buildings at CERN, except for the ones labeled as closed, for example: the ISOLDE hall.
- The meeting was followed by a seminar of Deyan Yordanov.
- Next PG meeting will take place at the usual place and time and it will be followed by the seminar of Jan Kurcewicz on the ISOLDE DAQ system: http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=274944
