TECHNICAL NEWS: No technical meeting this week;
GENERAL ISOLDE
- Next week the area around NICOLE must be emptied: people from NICOLE have been informed about the excavation of the trench nearby their setup
- Power cuts in the hall can occur even if not planned. Last Thursday at 15:30, a cable was accidentally cut causing an emergency shutdown in the hall and in bldg. 507. ISOLTRAP users were quite unhappy
- the electrical network in the hall extension is disconnected

- On Monday 22nd April, 24 Serbian Students visited the hall;

- Conferences:
- Thomas E.C. reported on the IOP Nuclear Physics Group Conference held in York, 7-10 April. The conference was opened by two long-date ISOLDE collaborators: Prof. P.Butler from University of Liverpool, awarded in 2012 of the Rutherford Medal and Prize and Prof. J. Billowes from University of Manchester, awarded in 2012 of the IOP Nuclear and particle Physics Division prize;
- Thomas E.C. reported on the IOP Workshop on “Shape Coexistence across nuclear Chart” held in York, 15-16 April;
- Kara L. reported on “Heavy Ion Accelerator Symposium on Fundamental and Applied Science – 2013” held in Canberra, 8-12 April. She was awarded the Best Student Talk prize;
- Guilherme C. reported on the School on Nanostructure and methods to characterize them, held at KULeuven, 15-19 April;
- Maria B. announced the course on “Nuclear Shell Model” which will take place at CERN from 14 to18 October 2013;
- Deadline for abstracts submission to the Mazurian lakes conference is extended to 31st May (it was 10th May);
- No seminar this week;
