1. Technical news:
· The general progress of technical work at ISOLDE is satisfactory. Some details a listed below.
· The work on the vacuum commissioning of FE7 (GPS) has started. A valve needs to be changed.
· New multi-pin connector for feedback and thermocouple readout from the targets will be tested this week as well as the power supplies for the target stations.
· The clamps of FE6 (HRS) have been changed.
· Two new pick-ups for primary beam diagnostics have been installed in the BTY line.
· The Tesla-meter setups have been rearranged in order to be easier to reset them.
· The beam-diagnostic group is working on the auto-ranging function of the Faraday cups.
· They are also investigating some problems on wire-grids at HRS.
· A motor needs to be replaced in one of the robots in the target area. This will be done by the external contractor.
· The beam instrumentation and vacuum control of REX is to be commissioned in the second part of April.
· A leak has been found at EBIS, currently being fixed.
· The control room has been refurbished and has a new layout.
· There is the intention to improve the exhibit of targets shown to visitors.
2.Safety
· A map of radiation levels has been established by the RP (Alexandre Dorsival).
· Measures will be taken to further reduce the levels in the RILIS cabin.
3. A.O.B:
· Thierry presented Joao Pedro Ramos - a new student working with the target group on a master thesis. He investigated the ISOLDE CaO material and found out that it qualifies as a nano material.
· CERN needs to evaluate the consumption of liquid helium. Magda will collect the estimates for quantities needed for each experiment over the next 2 years.
4. Seminars:
· There will be no seminar next week.
· Yuri Litvinov will speak about TSR on April 20.
· As already announced, Rick Casten will visit ISOLDE and give a series of lectures in the period Apr 27 to May 12.
