PhD Position IFIC Valencia, Spain

PhD. grant opening at IFIC (Valencia, Spain): Study of beta
spectrum of decays of relevance for the prediction of the
antineutrino spectrum in reactors.

We offer a 3-year grant to do a doctoral thesis on the study of the
beta spectrum of important fission products for the prediction of the
antineutrino spectrum in reactors. The work will be based on a new
setup and using beams of high isotopic purity provided by the
IGISOL IV facility in Jyväskylä (Finland). The research will take
place at IFIC (University of Valencia and CSIC), Valencia, Spain and
it is done in the framework of the Valencia-Nantes-Surrey
collaboration.

The application will be opened shortly. Candidates should have an
MSC degree by the date of the application or an equivalent
University degree with at least 300 ECTS. Applicants should have
obtained the degree IN A COUNTRY OTHER THAN SPAIN after
January 1st 2015, and should not hold a PhD degree. Proficiency in
Spanish or English is required.

Total funding per year: 22.192,80 € which includes salary and
social security contribution. The expected net salary per year for the
applicant is 16.800 €. In addition the fellowship also includes 1.600
€ travel assistance to cover moving expenses to the Valencian
Community. 

Starting date of the contract: 16.09.2019. If justified, the starting can
be delayed for a maximum of two months.
