Main Technical News:

  • On GPS, there were no problems during the last run. However, the operators reminded that a mass change on REX should take place during normal working hours.
  • The next target Ta-W #482 was put on.
  • On HRS, the high-resolution mode is being setup. Stable beam was tuned to LA1, where the experiment IS 541 on berylium will take place.
  •  

REX/RILIS:

  • The air conditioning in the RF room has dirt problems. The filters that had been installed some time ago, have to be exchanged monthly now because they become black. The outlet of this room goes into the ISOLDE hall.
  • RILIS is changing from Sm to Be beams, which should be available on Thursday.

Physics/Schedule:

  • It was decided that the accelerator complex runs until March 2013 with pp-collisions until 17.12.12. and p-ion-collisions until March 2013. The long shutdown LS1 will therefore end three months later.
  • IS 495 could collect good statistics on Sm-142.
  • The MAYA detector arrived.

Safety:

  • CERN CryoLab and safety officers have agreed to supply the 100l dewars until a solution could be provided to ISOLTRAP. This was decided after a visit in the hall.

AOB:

  • Yorick welcomed Maria who will take over as new ISOLDE Group Leader at the end of the month.
  • The ISCC took place yesterday.
  • Alexandre Dorsival is on holiday next week. Please contact Christelle Saury.
  • The sewage smell is back in the hall. Richard has been informed of this in the meantime.

Presentation:

-There was a presentation by Jacob Johansen: “The power of a T-REX with one MINIBALL – A low energy transfer study of 10,11,12Be”.
