1.Technical news

· Week II of cold checkout in progress. Surface ion source on HRS, plasma ion source on HRS.

· First protons will be delivered to ISOLDE next week.

· The test of the LIST target has been canceled.

· Currently there are FESA-classes-related problems of software controls to power supplies.

· Beam form HRS is presently in front of ISCOOL.

· RILIS performed laser alignment into the HRS target. GPS laser alignment will be done later this week.

· Inverted FC-s have been discovered - most likely a software problem. Jan Focker is looking into that.

· Both front ends have been tested successfully at 60keV!

· The yearly REXEBIS cathode exchange hasn’t increased the electron current. In addition the magnet looses LHe faster than normal. Fredrick is looking for solutions.

· REX-LINAC will be up and running by the end of the week.

· The new SAS is getting functional: He recuperation -installed; turning door in place; dewars moved;

· QP arrays have been automatically translated to the new system. Please report problems to Tim.

2.AOB

· ISOLDE welcomes Sandra Giron who is an experienced CATHI fellow and will be working on safety and radioprotection for the HIE-ISOLDE hall.

· The selection of summer students was discussed. Seems that 2 ISOLDE projects (ISOLTRAP and MINIBALL) were not successful at getting their listed candidates. After the meeting it was found that one of the projects had forgotten to list candidates! Both projects will have a second chance with remaining students who were not requested up to now. All results will be announced at the end of next week.

· Consider the 3-rd Joliot-Curie summer school and the Nuclear Structure and Dynamics II conference.

3.Lectures

· Thierry Stora presented " CERN-MEDICIS: Recuperation of the dumped CERN protons for the production of medical isotopes in the ISOLDE Class A Laboratory ".

· More information is available on the ISOLDE seminar web page.
