Several meetings, minutes can be found soon, online on the ISOLDE web page, shortly.

  • ISCC (ISolde Collaboration Committee) meeting :
    1. New hope for ENSAR proposal. Scaled down to 10 MEuro. This project enables users to travel to ISOLDE for experiments. Preparation of new proposal already ongoing before the 1st call expected in September 2009. Some new keywords in the proposal are applications (ex. solid state and bio physics in isolde) and future facilities.
    2. Norway will join soon the collaboration and Portugal is in discussion.
    3. Status of experiments : Mistral clean up will start this  year; a PhD student is required for the b-NMR setup; ex-user of the ASPIC experiment showed interest; GANIL has expressed possible interest in parts of the ECR.
  • INTC (Isolde and Neutron Time of flight scientific Committee)
    1. Record number of new proposals (16).
    2. For some proposals, the number of requested shifts was cut down to a more reasonable amount.
    3. 3 of 4 Letter of Intents were endorsed.
    4. Only two proposals were not endorsed.
    5. New chair of INTC is Peter Butler
  • Standing Group for the Upgrade of ISOLDE (ISUG)
    1. Priority of testing BeO (He beams) and high density UC targets as well as low work function cavities (supression of surface ionization).
    2. minutes and presentations will be available online.
  • Summer Students : ISOLDE will get 7-8 students, to be announced soon. The list of recommended students will be send around shortly. Some users have sent names of students who showed interest in ISOLDE - if possible these should be selected.
  • Proposals for broad interest ISOLDE seminars can be forwarded to Yorick.
